Hi all
I am off to china for 5 months , 2 months in Chenngdu with family staying at a hostel and doing daily outings. then 3 months of staying in monastries and trekking the holy mountains. with a trip in there to Tibet. Does anyone have any top tips for China/Tibet ??

My research so far on the weather front is that Beijing will be like summer here, but will drop to -2 by December. and Chengdu will drop to about 12c !?

I will be packing . kilo soft 3 season bag and bivvy and my fly sheet.Clothing; lots of layers . i will be wearing my boots and packing my trainers. First aid kit. cant take knives and ligthers on plane (wont be putting my stuff in the hold) so will try to get them out there or buying online and having them sent to my hostel.
will i be safe in my army camo rain gear??. i ve just found out best not to wear military clothing , got to buy a new coat !!
i will be packing 1-2 kilo of assorted nuts. and breakfast/nutrition bars.
