Review: THE single best torch I've ever had, over any maglite or surefire I've used. For £12 at Tesco I expected a mediocre performance for about 2 hours and then nothing, I bought my first in Nov 08 and my second in Jan 09 and they're both on the batteries that came with them and still as blindingly bright. They even outperformed many of the mid range surefires at during the mockbugout last Jan. The projection is clear and strong, it does diffuse after about 100 or so meters but still lights up the area. They come with a lanyard and a plastic like material pouch with a belt loop as well as the batteries.

As always though there are some downsides; the first being the weight, they're not the lightest pieces of kit around at 320g, which does mean running with this thing on your belt does feel like you've attached a lb of ham to you, I presume having a more sophisticated pouch, probably with a leg strap would stop it flapping about but after a few hours running around with this on I was beginning to bruise. The second issue is that this torch is 'weatherproof' not waterproof, I've not tested it but I'd seriously doubt that you could submerge it in water, although both the batter and LED compartmens have seals around them so you could potentially beef it up to waterproof level by adding some better/bigger seals.

Overall its a surprisingly powerful torch for the cost, the batter life is amazing and is certainly worth looking into as a backup. Not something I'd go running around with but would be great fixed up at camp.
